St. Malachy's visit Armagh Museum
On Thursday 15th October and Thursday 22nd October primary seven attended various workshops in the Armagh Museum. These visits incorporated the curriculum areas of The World Around Us, The Arts and Personal Development. The first workshop focused on the myths and traditions of the Harvest and how crop failure affected the people of Ireland in 1845.
The second workshop focused on the history of portraiture using examples from the museum's collection. This session involved practical activities led by a Newry based artist, Jim Russell, who introduced techniques for practical drawing and observation.
The primary seven children really enjoyed their time at the Museum and thank all who were involved in these events.
