St. Malachy's past pupil achieves European success
Shannon Connolly, past pupil of St. Malachy's Primary School will travel to Budapest Hungary, next week to represent Ireland in the world Triathlon Championships.
A triathlon is an endurance sport consisting of swimming, cycling and running. A mile swim is followed immediately by a 25 mile cycle, and finished with a 6 mile run.
Armagh man Shannon has had a successful triathlon season in 2010; becoming Ulster Champion (Under-25) in May and finishing an excellent third place in the European Triathlon Championship in July.
St. Malachy's are holding a non-uniform day to support Shannon's trip to the World Championships. Shannon would like to say a big thank you to all at St. Malachy's Primary.
Shannon will be racing the World Aquathon Championships (Swim to Run) on Wednesday 8th September and the World Triathlon Championships on Sunday 12th September in Budapest.
The pupils and staff of St. Malachy's are extremely proud of Shannon's achievements, and we wish him every success in Budapest and the future aheadSt Malachy's Primary School, Chapel Lane, Armagh, Co. Armagh, BT61 7EG, Northern Ireland | T:02837 523847
