St. Malachy's children take charge at Croke Park

  Former All-Ireland final referee Hugh Duggan was in St. Malachy's school last week to congratulate the six lucky chlidren who officiated at Croke Park. Hugh refereed the 1979 All- Ireland footbal final between Kerry and Dublin.  He chatted with children about their wonderful experience and encouraged them all to keep playing and participating in Gaelic games.  The Young Whistler programme  is part of the Respect All Initiative, which gave the children the opportunity to take charge of a mini sevens game at half time during the Down verses Kildare All-Ireland quarter final. The staff of St. Malachy's Primary School would like to thank Hugh for taking the time out to visit and share his experinces with the children
