Mardi Gras cake sale at St. Malachy's Primary School

Last Thursday 4^th March the Student Council at St. Malachy's organised a very successful Mardi Gras cake sale to raise funds for literacy and numeracy resources.

The Student Council, which is made of two members from each class in primary four, five, six and seven came up with the idea of a Mardi Gras themed celebration whereby all children were encouraged to wear something bright and colourful. A few classes also made face masks in a Mardi Gras style.

The cake sale was brilliantly supported by parents as a huge amount of goodies were baked and purchased. The final total raised was a very impressive £420. The Student Council and staff of St. Malachy's would like to thank all who baked and supported this event.
