Our friends at Sijiyuan Primary School, Yangzhou, China
Following from Mr Duggan's trip to China in October we have been keeping in touch with our friends at Sijiyuan Primary School. Below is a look at what they have been getting up to.
Different Children's Day
On June 1, 2016, we had a different children's day. We
sold our toys and books from home to each other, and
the money we earned will be donated to the poor or sick
classmates in our school. It was really a happy holiday!
Learning to make Zongzi
The fifth lunar month every year is our country ’ s
traditional festival "Dragon Boat Festival". The legend is
to commemorate the great patriotic poet Qu yuan. This
year's Dragon Boat Festival, we go home to learn how to
make zongzi from our grandma and grandpa . During this
traditional Festival we Chinese often eat different kind of
zongzi, inside which we fill with a variety of flavors, such
as red jujube, sausage, fresh meat, red bean...
School Farm
Happy farmers!
In the southeast corner of our school, there is a small
piece of land. Students spend their spare time planting
vegetables in the field. Now, the lettuces are ripe ! We are
selling vegetables at the school gate!
