St. Malachy's Primary School celebrate Science week

30th Mar 2012
Last week saw St. Malachy's Primary School going all out to celebrate science week with  various experiments, Primary STEM challenge success, the launch of Sentinus' projects and interactive presentations.

After winning a science competion in Term 1 organised by the Planetarium, the children of St. Malachy's were rewarded with a 'star show' inside the Star Dome.

Three primary seven children will represent their school in the Odyssey Belfast at the Young Scientists event in June after they came through the Southern Board heat stage of the Sentinus challenge.

Also, St. Malachy's are the only school in the Southern Education Library Board to have been chosen to take part in the Sentinus Primary Engineers Challenge, entitled 'Building Bridges'. Under the guidence of parent and local engineer, Barry Hughes from H2O Flow and Tom Keane of Sentinus, the children have to complete a range of engineering tasks with a final showcase of their work at the Odyssey Belfast in June.
